Spend a summer weekend at this lovely retreat cottage right on the water in North Beach, MD. It feels like a world away, but it's only a 45 minute drive from DC, and you don't even need to cross the Bay Bridge to get there. Sleeps 6-8 in 3BRs, 2 baths, den, open kitchen, and huge screened porch overlooking the lawn, dock, Bay, and Eastern Shore beyond. You can swim from the dock, use the inner tubes and kayak, grill dinner, and take a short walk along the water into the little town of North Beach for an ice cream cone or a visit to the candy store that boasts a giant PEZ collection. For an old-fashioned, low-key family weekend you can't beat it. Wifi is available, so you have the option of staying in touch with the outside world -- but you won't want to!
