Item Description
Artwork Title: Glass Bass
Artist: Alina Zalucki
All information was provided by the artist in their own words.
Materials: "Hyper Striper" artwork is about 3 ft. wide x 1 ft. tall and made of .5 in. Versatex (PVC). Acrylic paint, sea glass, & adhesive.
Description: My Hyper Striper, entitled Glass Bass, is inspired by my childhood memories of gathering sea glass on the beach. I chose shades of blue to represent the ocean and sea mist. The sea glass remains soft and worn while around the glass the adhesive shines through creating the illusion of wetness. The combination of worn glass and adhesive shine makes the fish appear as if it has just jumped out of the water.
About the Artist: Alina Zalucki has been creating art ever since she could pick up a paintbrush. Alina graduated with a degree in studio art and psychology at Wellesley College in 2013. Currently, she teaches middle school art in Beverly, MA. In Fall 2020 Alina was featured on NBC10 Boston for her public murals in Revere, MA. Alina aims to create works that will bring a sense of peace to your home. Her illustrative works focus on the quiet beauty of nature and other New England scenes. Alina also loves to paint custom pet portraits that show how truly unique and adored your pet is!
