Item Description
A Mother's Love: This touching piece beautifully captures a mother's loving embrace and the warmth that comes with knowing you're loved and protected. This cast bronze sculpture with a wonderful patina measures approximately 2.5" x 2.75" x 5" and is handcrafted by famed sculptor Nnamdi Okonkwo. The piece was made in 2018 and features his signature. Nnamdi was born in Eastern Nigeria. He has always been drawn to art, particularly three-dimensional sculptures.
After obtaining a Degree in painting in Nigeria, basketball became the avenue for Nnamdi to emigrate to the United States, playing for BYU-Hawaii and graduating with a BFA in Sculpture. He followed with a MFA in sculpture from BYU-Provo. He now works full-time out of his studio in Fayetteville, Georgia. His work is represented in galleries across the country, and his large-scale monumental work can be seen in individual and public sculpture gardens. Nnamdi notes, "I am captivated by the noble characteristics, which include: empathy, love, resilience, strength, etc., that are embodied in womanhood." Share this touching piece with a special woman in your life.
