Item Description
You are bidding on a two-hour local garden consultation with Terry Melton, ClearWater board member and caretaker of ClearWater's Native Plant Garden from 2009-2020. Terry can advise you on what/when/how to plant in your space to invite nature in, taking into consideration your site's unique characteristics.
After receiving Terry's advice, head to the Tait Farm Harvest Shop and Greenhouse with your $100 gift certificate to explore their extensive selection of native plants. During the growing season, customers may come here to shop by Plant Type, Site Solution, or Specific Pollinator that you wish to attract. We cannot wait for 2022! Lots of exciting returning and new offerings are coming! Click here for more information.
Tait Farm's Ridge & Valley Native Plant System was developed in Summer 2018. This natural habitat allows us to collect seeds that we use to propagate native plants that we offer to community gardeners and homeowners for purchase each growing season. As a result, native habitats for pollinators and wildlife are evolving and growing in Centre County.
Pennsylvania Native Plants are those that occur naturally in our state and region. Native plants include all kinds of plants from mosses and ferns to wildflowers, shrubs, and trees. These Native Plants are often easier to grow, require less maintenance such as watering, and are less susceptible to challenging conditions than non-native plants. Incorporating native plants in your home landscape will encourage birds, pollinators, butterflies, and other beneficial insects.
Note: The gift card may not be used to purchase sale or consignment items and is good through 2022.
