Piazza Del Dotto 2021 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

This is a stunning selection that comes extremely close to rivaling our top single vineyard Estate Family Reserve cabs. Over the last few years the Piazza Reserve has quickly become a staff favorite. This a blend of primarily Oakville Cabernet with a splash of Merlot to round out and soften up the finish. The nose exudes beautiful red fruit puree, French vanilla bean, snickerdoodle cookie crumbles and a hint of baking spice. The flavors are delicious ranging from raspberry and strawberry pie to warm cocoa and dusty earth. The finish has a buttery like richness and satin like landing.

Del Dotto 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon, Rutherford Estate Family Reserve, Napa Valley

This is 100% Rutherford Estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon and the pure version of the best fruit that is blended to create The David. With only 14 barrels produced this is a famous Clone 7 that bares the historic bloodlines of Château Margaux. The nose is a tad more intense and richer than The Rutherford Estate David, pleasantly so from a being pure Cabernet Sauvignon. Aromatics of chocolate-covered espresso beans unfold into blackberry jam and slate. Flavors are powerful yet incredibly balanced, reminiscent of German chocolate cake with black puree fruit filling. The finish is lengthy and viscous. A classic Napa creation that should drink well for 10-15 years.

Located in the beautiful Napa Valley, Del Dotto Family Wineries & Caves focus on small production, premium wines. Dave Del Dotto has spent the past 25 years acquiring vineyards in some of the best American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) including Rutherford, Oakville, St. Helena, Howell Mountain, and Fort Ross-Seaview Sonoma Coast.

With a family name rooted in winemaking since the 1400s, wine was in Dave's veins. He started collecting bottles in the late '80s. In 1988, he was on a wine-buying trip in Napa Valley with his wife Yolanda when they stumbled upon a beautiful 1912 Frank Lloyd Wright craftsman house located in the desirable Rutherford appellation. Dave had a palate for fine wines and a love for real estate, and he knew the Rutherford property had the potential to produce some remarkable grapes. He and Yolanda purchased the 17-acre property on the spot after falling in love with the view. Shortly after, the family moved from Kona, Hawaii, and in 1990, continued the 800-year old Del Dotto legacy by planting new rootstock of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Sangiovese.
