Bright yellow-gold. Complex bouquet of fresh citrus fruits, honeydew, ginger and beeswax.   Plump and chewy on the palate, offering ripe orange and melon flavors firmed up by a bitter lemon pith nuance. Finishes clean and chewy, with lingering spiciness and very good persistence.

The 2017 Chardonnay Estate is from vines planted in 1976 and 1989. It has a lovely, toasty nose with pie crust and baking spice, warm peaches, quince paste, lemon curd and citrus blossom with notes of tangerine peel, toasted hazelnut and spring honey. Medium to full-bodied, it's silky textured and has intense layers of warm fruits and savory, spicy notions, with juicy acidity to counter and a long, layered finish. Gorgeous!  Drink 2020-2030. Daffodil yellow; stylish, elegant nose, verging on exquisite.  An inviting floral start with apple and pear aromas and flavors. Impressive density and length for its level with a plump richness that would have made me think this Puligny villages if served blind. Wow for its level!

The 2003 Vire-Clesse Vieilles Vignes de Roally “Caniculus” (white) bursts from the glass with a myriad of spices. Pepper, anise, nutmeg, sage, thyme, rosemary, and hints of cinnamon can be detected in its complex, flavorful core. This light to medium-bodied wine is silky-textured and impressively long in the finish.
