Item Description
Donated by Clare Bell, NYPL Associate Director of the Miriam and Ira D. Wallach Division of Art, Prints and Photographs. The donor has graciously agreed to start the bidding at $75.
Clare Bell is a curator with expertise in strategic exhibition planning. She was recently Senior Director of Exhibitions at the Guggenheim Museum in New York where she supervised numerous international and domestic traveling shows. She was a curator at the Guggenheim before taking on the role of Chief Curator and Deputy Director at the Museum of the City of New York. She has written extensively on the work of Roy Lichtenstein and served as Manager of Exhibitions for the foundation established in his name. She has taught at the School of Visual Arts and more recently at New York University in the graduate Museum Studies program. Ms. Bell will serve as the tour guide for this unique experience.
Step past the internationally recognized lion sculptures on Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street at the New York Public Library's main branch for a unique behind-the-scenes tour. In addition to over 4 million books and archival materials, the NYPL's Schwarzman Building provides access to world-renowned collections of some 15 million items in the humanities, social sciences, and fine arts. Among these holdings are priceless medieval manuscripts, decorative arts objects, ancient Japanese scrolls, contemporary novels and poetry, as well as prized baseball cards, dime novels, and comic books. Experience this intimate introduction to the library's treasures guided by seasoned arts professional, Clare Bell. Tour lasts approximately 1-hour, can accommodate a maximum of 5 individuals, and will take place at a mutually agreed upon date/time for the winner and tour guide. Adults must accompany children.

Final bidding will take place in-person during the LIVE AUCTION event on Saturday, November 1st. If you're unable to attend the live auction, you can leave a "high bid" amount online (no later than October 29th, 5pm EST) and the auctioneer will represent your bid during the live event.

A note on bidding: Any high bid that does not follow the listed bidding increments will be nullified and voided.
The Bidding Increments are as follows:
$1-99, the bidding increment is $5
$100-199, the bidding increment is $10
$200-499, the bidding increment is $20
$500-999, the bidding increment is $50
$1000 and up, the bidding increment is $100
Items can be picked up at the Attleboro Arts Museum from November 6th – 8th, 2025. The Museum is open Tuesday - Saturday from 10am-5pm. In-person pickup is preferred. If an item is to be shipped, the winning bidder is responsible for all shipping arrangements and handling costs. After arrangements have been made, items will be shipped no later than November 14th. Winners of specialty items that do not require pickup will be contacted with details by November 7th. The artist retains all reproduction and copyrights.
