Item Description
Jamie Wyeth, the second son of artist Andrew Wyeth, was born in 1946 and is the youngest member of the Wyeth dynasty. This was the first work in silver created by any member of the Wyeth family, and the first in a series of silver collectors plates designed by the artist. In this work, the special beauty of silver becomes part of the design. The rich tone of the precious metal complements the finely detailed etching, while the brilliant reflectivity of silver helps capture the daylight filtering through the trees, mirrored in the waters of the Brandywine River. Measures 8" across. weighs 6.4 ounces. With certificate of authenticity - serial #3900 1972. With case.
