Item Description
Mimi is one of the longest-living residents at Denver Zoo. This Asian elephant came to the zoo in 1961 and is 50-years-old. Dolly has been a Denver resident for 19 years and is 35-years-old. Picking up sticks is a natural behavior for elephants and picking up a paintbrush and holding it in their trunk is merely a naturally occurring behavior that zoo keepers have turned into an enriching activity for the animals. Not only is painting enjoyable for Mimi and Dolly, it is also a mentally stimulating activity that helps keeps their mind active.
Item Special Note
This painting is 24" x 20" and includes a picture and biography of the artists.
