From tags sales to general season openers, there’s a lot happening in Idaho next month that you should be aware of. Deer Creek Reservoir is a 75 acre lake located in Clearwater County about 10 miles north of the town of Pierce, Idaho. This reservoir has become a popular destination for anglers because of its beautiful scenery and the unique trout fishing opportunity it provides.
Anyone who catches a walleye in an Idaho river is asked to kill it, take a photo and contact Idaho Fish and Game Biologist Marika Dobos at the Lewiston Regional Office by email at marika.dobos@idfg.idaho.gov, or by calling (208) 750-4228.
Idaho Fish and Game’s MK Nature Center is hosting its annual Celebrating Pollinators event on June 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This family-friendly event will be held at the MK Nature Center and costs $5 per person.

On Memorial Day weekend, a cow elk was shot out of season east of White Bird off of the Free Use Road (FSR #243). This stretch of road receives a fair amount of traffic from sportsmen and public alike. Anyone having information about these poaching incidents is encouraged to call the Citizens Against Poaching (CAP) hotline at (800)632-5999 or Fish and Game Senior Conservation Officer Ethan Bishop at (208)799-5010. Anyone providing information can remain anonymous.
