Shem Tov Award Winner 2024:
David Orbuch The Shem Tov (Good Name) Award is given to an individual who has contributed substantially to congregational activity and has made a significant impact on the life of the synagogue community. Each year prior to the Annual Meeting, a committee composed solely of previous award recipients meet to select an individual who best fits this criterion. This year we are wishing a hearty Mazel Tov to David Orbuch, Adath's 2024 Shem Tov Award recipient. It is a pleasure to honor David for his many years of inspiring leadership, service, and dedication to Adath, our Jewish community and community in general. David’s meaningful and extensive contributions include his service as past president of Adath, current Adath Foundation president, long-time Adath board member, and wise counsel. David was also the co-chair of the committee instrumental in bringing Rabbi Aaron Weininger to Adath. On Friday, May 31 at 5:00 PM, we'll come together for the Adath Annual meeting, celebrate our community, and honor David for his dedication, passion, and momentous achievements. Kol hakavod, David! |
Building a Community of Care
Tuesday, June 11| 7:30 PM | Adath | RSVP Join our Adath clergy, new and veteran leaders of our Chevra Kavod HaMet (burial society), and members of our Prayer and Spirituality Task Force to reflect on how our Adath community shows up for each other through the mitzvah of nichum aveilim, comforting mourners. What can each of us do to take care of each other and cultivate community through the Jewish process of mourning? We will be honoring our Chevra Kavod HaMet leaders Cindy Dubansky and Joe Peilte as a part of our evening. We look forward to seeing you and save some room for cheesecake! |
