Everyone at the hotel is always so nice and helpful.
From before we arrived, Fairmont orchid staff was accommodating, pre-empted our every need/desire and went above and beyond to make it a dream vacation. The property was perfect - loved the cove! Beach staff was awesome. Room had all we needed, thanks to a recommended suite upgrade Maria made happen before arrival. We were greeted with a lovely fruit and chocolate dish. Food was what you would expect for hotel, fresh and no complaints. Restaurant staff was lovely with little one and taking care of parents too. Concierge (Cheryl) was super helpful in planning family oriented activities with a toddler. Housekeeping and front desk was extremely accommodating with special requests.

This is our second time staying at the property. We had a bad experience with the front desk staff the first stay and this time wasn't much different. The front desk staff still lacks in anticipating the guests needs and don't seem to know the answer to simple questions. They don't seem super welcoming or accommodating like the rest of the staff and they almost seem annoyed to be helping you. We are also returning guests so you would thing they would say something along the lines of welcome back or thanks for returning. I will say that all of our 5 rooms were together on the same floor unlike the year before which was nightmare and we were in all different areas of the hotel. We will probably return next year because we participate in a golf tournament that is held here every May.
We loved staying at the fairmont. It was beautiful and had so many places to sit. The only frustration was we paid more for a partial ocean view room and the first room we were put in had no ocean room partial or otherwise. We called the front desk who did say it was considered "partial ocean view" but there was truly no view of the ocean unless you exited the back deck and walked a few steps out. They did move us to a new room the following night that DID have a partial ocean view so that was great, but just wanted to call this experience out. Otherwise nice stay, lovely time and beautiful grounds. The rooms could maybe use a bit of updating for the price you pay but they were clean and well maintained.
The location of the Fairmont Orchid is beautiful and it truly does have incredible sunsets every night, but unfortunately, we felt the views and the bathrooms were the only luxury aspects of our stay. The promised communications and services from the front desk at check-in did not happen and we had to follow up on each (we weren’t texted when our room was ready, bags were not delivered by the bell hop, added microwave wasn’t delivered), and we felt that across the board the food at all restaurants was average at best and completely underwhelming or lacking in flavor at times. We will skip the Fairmont Orchid in lieu of one of the other resorts in the future if ever back in the area.

I booked from Amex Fine Hotel and Resort, the policy states that we can get a proper upgrade when we arrived. However, the front desk didn't provide upgrade even there's not many people in the Resort. Front Desk told us we can use the Cabana everyday 1 hour for free, but when we reached to the pool side, we were told the Cabana was not free and we need to pay for it. Front desk seems like don't know much about the facility of the hotel, they just let us follow the map to find the location.

Overall, an outstanding and amazing stay. Started off rough when the young man at the front didn’t smile or give us any information about the hotel. Was given essentially the furthest room in the hotel but that was OK. Everything after that was fantastic. Cleaning staff were so friendly, All other service personnel were so friendly and helpful. Love the location and setting. Enjoyed every ounce of it. Would definitely come back.
First of all, we turn off ac in the room and still cold air was coming in from under the door. We had to cover under the door with towels. Passing through hallway was painful because it was cold. If you people turn down few degree of ac, the hotel can save tons of money and environmentally friendly. If you hire me I could save you millions. Next you have to have ala card for breakfast. There are people like us that can order simple breakfast.

I recommend more umbrellas by the pool and beac area. A hotel of this caliber should provide shade opportunities without the guests having to compete for umbrellas
