The Global Education Leadership Fund (GELF) was launched in 2008 when several generous Newton community members made it possible for two students to join the Prague summer program.
A group of Newton teachers, parents and administrators coalesced around this act of generosity, and determined to make it possible for any Newton student to participate in an international program, regardless of financial means.
In the past four years we have been able to support 43 students with almost $56,000 to go on programs to Russia, Italy, India, Prague, Nicaragua, Peru, Spain, France, Panama and China. These trips change lives!
