THE SCHOOL
North Lawndale College Prep (NLCP) is a public charter high school with two campuses in Chicago’s Westside. Enrollment is open to anyone and there is no fee for attendance. Approximately 95% of NLCP’s students are low-income and as many as 10% are homeless at any given time.

NLCP's purpose is simple: see our students to and through college. Our mission is to prepare our students for graduation from high school with the academic skills and personal resilience necessary for successful completion of college.

Since opening its doors in 1998, NLCP has graduated more than 1,500 students. More than 85% of these graduates have enrolled in college. Over 80% of those who enrolled in college have either graduated or are still working toward a degree.
