Third time's a charm. Just ask the Martha's Vineyard Community Services (MVCS) organization. They ran their third successful BiddingForGood (cMarket) auction in conjunction with their live auction, and raised over $43,000 from their fundraiser.
Martha's Vineyard Community Services enriches the lives of over 6,000 residents and visitors each year. With programs ranging from health and human services to educational resources, MVCS offers assistance in areas such as Early Childhood Development, Counseling, Disability, Visiting Nurse and Women's Support Services to local families and individuals. They ran their "Possible Dreams Auction" to raise funds to continue to provide these essential services to those who reside on the Island of Martha's Vineyard.
Veterans of online auction fundraising, MVCS knew how to capitalize on BiddingForGood (cMarket)'s auction services to ensure success. They started by customizing their auction banner that spans across each site page. They also used the allotted space on the homepage to discuss the programs that would benefit from every bid that was placed. MVCS reached out to their community using BiddingForGood (cMarket)'s Auction Manager - sending email communications and correspondence to encourage participation. They also presented their bidders with a desirable catalog of diverse and unique items including a Fender guitar signed by John Mayer and featured an opportunity to commission a painting and go on location with painter Allen Whiting, an item that opened at $250 and raised over $8,500 for the nonprofit.
At the close of the "Possible Dreams Auction", every item in the online catalog had received both a Watch and a Bid, making this one of the most successful BiddingForGood (cMarket) fundraising programs for the organization to date. Martha's Vineyard Community Services has consistently profited from online fundraising auctions and we look forward to continuing our relationship with them, and helping them raise the funds necessary to continue their programs.
