Welcome to the MDS Auction scheduled for Monday evening, May 18th. We are thrilled to be able to support our school in such a meaningful way. The auction will take place at Manhattan Day School , 310 West 75th Street between West End and Riverside. We have over 300 amazing prize packages. The proceeds of the auction will go to The Parents Council which supports everything from the Purim Carnival, Back to School and Year-End BBQs, to the Early Childhood Petting Zoo and Health and Wellness Week.
(NOTE: This is an ADULT ONLY event but as many of the prizes are geared toward kids, please preview the prize packages with your children before the event. No admittance without government ID).
MDS Auction 2015: How Does It Work?
There are three different types of auctions:
Chinese Auction
A Chinese Auction is just like a raffle. Tickets are placed in a raffle box for a desired prize. At the end of the evening, a drawing takes place with one winning ticket.
Chinese Auction tickets can be purchased at specific denominations either online in advance or at the event. Tickets purchased in advance can be picked up at the business office (the week prior to the event) or at the event. All prizes will be on online for display purposes only. Most Chinese Auction prizes will be on display at MDS for a week prior to the event and at at the event where tickets can be placed in the appropriate Chinese Auction boxes for the prizes you wish to bid on.
Silent Auction
Silent Auction prizes have a starting bid and participants raise the bid by specific increments. At a designated time during the event, bidding is closed and the person with the highest bid wins the prize. All items are available for viewing online prior to the event and will be available for online bidding beginning Friday, May 15th through Monday, May 18th. When you see an item you would like to bid on, you can bid on our auction website prior to the event or via a mobile bidding program during the actual event. Remotely, you will still be able to bid on the auction website during the event. To use mobile bidding, go to biddingforgood.com/supportmds and click on register to bid. *NOTE: Please click on the following categories to bid on Silent Auction items: Art, Camps, Jewelry and Watches, Handbags, MDS Class Projects, Sports Memorabilia, Sports Tickets, and Unique Experiences.
Live Auction
The Live Auction will take place ONLY at the event from 8:30-9:00 PM. At a Live Auction, an auctioneer will describe some of our top prizes and announce an opening bid. Participants will use the back of their catalogs as paddles (bidder numbers will be on the back) and will raise their paddles to bid. The highest bidder will win the prize.

Please take advantage of the Early Bird entrance fee ($36--till Wednesday, May 13th at 12 Noon) and register now so you can skip the lines and be ready to start bidding when you enter the auction.
