Winchester Foundation for Educational Excellence – Bids for Kids
Auction Ends: Mar 21, 2016 11:59 PM EDT

What's up with the auction?

WFEE's online auction is raising money to improve technology at all of our community's schools. We've called our campaign powerED UP! and, thanks to the generosity of many, we have already donated more than $500,000 to upgrade wireless infrastructure and purchase student devices. But, we aren't done yet, that is why we need your help. If everyone gives a little, then everyone will benefit a lot!

Up for auction are unique, fun experiences. Nearly all involve teacher participation and many experiences include a large number of children.

  • You can search for items by school - some items are available at all schools, many are school specific
  • Get together with friends to bid on experiences - for example, a principal led afternoon of sports. If 20 kids can attend and everyone bids $20 that means another $400 to purchase student devices.
  • Make a bid opening day, March 11th, and you will be automatically entered into a raffle for a Chromebook that converts to a tablet!

Lets put the "FUN" back in fundraising, giving everyone a chance to support our students and teachers.

powerED UP! is meant to ensure that Winchester doesn't fall behind comparable school districts in preparing students for competitive college and work environments.

Want to help even if you aren't bidding?

Make a cash donation to WFEE - your gift is tax deductible and will be used to purchase educational technology or to fund professional development.

How much? Every contribution is valuable but here are some numbers to consider:

  • Chromebooks cost the district $200 or $5,000 for a classroom set
  • iPads cost $420 or $10,500 for a classroom set

Both devices are being used across all of our schools.

Thank you for your donation - a cash gift means everyone wins!

"The powerED UP! initiative is key to our vision of providing excellent, world-class education in Winchester."
