GapBuster is running an online auction fundraiser to celebrate their 22nd year of operation.

On behalf of the Board of Directors of GapBuster, Inc. and our 22nd-year Anniversary committee, it is our pleasure to extend a formal invitation to you; to join us at our 22nd-anniversary celebration on September 25, 2022 (2:00 pm to 5:00 pm) hosted at the Silver Spring, Civic Center located at 1 Veterans Plaza, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
Gapbuster, Inc. was founded in 2000 when Executive Director, Dr. Yvette Butler, realized that inequities still existed in public schools between minorities and non -minorities. The program began as a home-based volunteer program to assist youth with math; yet by 2000, the program had expanded to over 37 students, and school space was needed to continue the program. In October 2001, Dr. Butler incorporated the organization and filed for its non-profit status to obtain grants to sustain the program. Over the years the organization expanded to offer supplemental education tutoring; noncurricular enrichment programs; leadership development training; workforce development and IT certification; GapBuster, Inc. develops well-rounded individuals positioned to excel in academic, social, and professional environments. To date, GapBuster has impacted the lives of over 20,000 students and families, in the DMV, California, and Ghana.
