11,115,859 - That's the number of people who were positively impacted by Tourism Cares in 2012. We did this by helping tourism sites in need and by investing in our future workforce.
Travel & tourism is among the fastest growing industries in the world. The World Travel & Tourism Council forecasts that by 2023, Travel & Tourism’s total economic contribution will account for 10% of global GDP, $10.5 trillion US dollars and 1 and 10 jobs. Total travel & tourism employment is forecast to add more than 70 million jobs over the next decade.
We, as an industry, have a responsibility to preserve the very wellspring of its success – the travel experience itself. History, culture and authenticity must be preserved and a knowledgeable workforce must be developed and nurtured. Tourism Cares is the global nonprofit organization that was founded to fulfill these critical needs and preserve the travel experience for future generations.
This year we celebrated our 10the anniversary of organizing volunteer give back projects across the country and now overseas. Tourism Cares Global Impact Fund supports a portfolio of countries who have emerging, existing and threatened tourism industries.
