La Paz Intermediate School is a Public Junior High School in Mission Viejo, California which has been designated as a National and California 'School to Watch.' Our Music Boosters program supports music education at La Paz which is challenged by devastating state budget cuts.
Our acclaimed Jazz Band has been invited to the Monterey Jazz Festival for the better part of the last decade (Keep in mind, we're talking 7th & 8th graders), but because of budget cuts, the students carry their broken-down instruments to Monterey in cases so old they require duct tape to keep them together.
