The online portion of West Michigan Symphony Gala 2010 is open and bids are starting to come in! The auction will run until May 6, 2010 with the live event taking place on May 8, 2010. Proceeds support the West Michigan Symphony and West Michigan Youth Symphony programs that inspire and enrich our communities.

"THE COMPLETE HISTORY OF MUSIC IN 80 MINUTES"
Based on the chapter from Scott Speck's Classical Music for Dummies called "The Complete History of Music in 80 Pages," this short and entertaining concert takes you from the Renaissance era to the present. Beautiful pieces played by WMS chamber ensembles are interspersed with Scott's witty and engaging commentary. You'll come away with a new understanding of the common threads of classical music, the society that influenced it, and the great geniuses who create.
Pre-concert Reception – Frauenthal Lobby – 6:00 pm
“The Complete History of Music” - Frauenthal Theater 7 pm
Dinner and Dancing (Tim Froncek and the Jazz Consortium) plus Raffle/Auctions - Holiday Inn Ballroom – 8:30 pm
Individual tickets are $175 and tables for 8 are $1,600
Concert only tickets $10 adults and $5 students (available at the Frauenthal or through StarTickets.)
