A recent study by the World Health Organization (WHO) predicted that by the year 2030, AIDS would be the #1 killer disease, claiming as many as 6.5 million lives per year.
During this special time of year, please consider giving to those less fortunate by bidding in the Kidlinks Online Auction.
According to the WHO, an estimated 5.7 million people were living with HIV and AIDS in South Africa in 2009; more than in any other country in the world. It is believed that in 2008, over 250,000 South Africans died of AIDS. Prevalence is more than 15 percent among those aged 15-49, with some age groups being particularly affected. Almost one in three women aged 25-29, and over a quarter of men aged 30-34 are living with HIV.
Auction bidding starts December 3 and ends December 12, just in time for the holidays.
