Fifteen years and still going strong!
The Association for Science in Autism Treatment (ASAT) is celebrating its 15th anniversary. ASAT is an important resource for individuals with autism and their families, as well as for professionals and paraprofessionals who provide services to those impacted by the disorder. Founded in 1998, the mission of ASAT is to promote safe, effective, science-based treatments for people with autism by disseminating accurate, timely, and scientifically sound information; advocating for the use of scientific methods to guide treatment; and combating unsubstantiated, inaccurate and false information about autism and its treatment.
Since 1998, we have worked diligently to keep science at the forefront of the conversation about autism treatment and have developed and maintained a comprehensive website and a quarterly newsletter. These serve as primary sources of science-based information against a backdrop of information overload, pseudoscience, and inaccuracies that distract consumers from making the best possible treatment choices for their children. ASAT provides these and other resources with no charge whatsoever to anyone.Since our beginning fifteen years ago and still today, our goal is to promote higher standards of accountability for the treatment, education, and care of all individuals with autism.
