Reverse Rett Chicago | Silent Auction

The silent auction for Reverse Rett Chicago will be held on May 28 from 6:00PM-9:00PM at Galleria Marchetti (825 W Erie St, Chicago). All proceeds will benefit Rett Syndrome Research Trust ("RSRT").

RSRT’s single focus is to heal children and adults affected by Rett Syndrome, a severely disabling neurological disorder. Rett, which is caused by a random genetic mutation, primarily affects girls and women. Its terrible symptoms usually strike by 18 months of age. Most girls and women with Rett are unable to talk, walk or use their hands. Other symptoms include Parkinson-like tremors, seizures, extreme anxiety, and orthopedic problems. Remarkably, the symptoms of Rett have been reversed in mouse models of the disease. This achievement proved that Rett is, in theory, a curable condition. Rett research has now entered a promising new phase, but funding is needed to continue the scientific momentum and to translate a reversal in mice to a reversal in girls and women. With your support, RSRT can aggressively pursue numerous scientific approaches that will lead to effective treatments and, ultimately, a reversal of Rett Syndrome.
