The Summer@Spring LIFE Photo Exhibit will be held on June 16, 2016 and continue through August 23. This exciting exhibition features more than 50 exceptional fashion images from the LIFE Photo Archives from the 1940’s to 1970’s, providing a unique and rare perspective into the history of fashion in New York City. The collection features work from three of the four original LIFE photographers -- Margaret Bourke-White, Alfred Eisenstaedt and Peter Stackpole – and other seminal photographers such as Yale Joel, Nina Leen and Gordon Parks. The exhibition prints feature iconic fashion as well as fashion icons Audrey Hepburn, Eartha Kitt, Jessica Tandy, Marlon Brando, Gloria Morgan Vanderbilt and Marilyn Monroe. This fascinating collection of photographs includes one of LIFE’s most famous images:  Eisenstaedt’s “V.J. Day.” 

The exhibition was developed in collaboration with Time Inc.’s LIFE Photo Archives and curated by Silverlake Photography and Spring Studios with printing provided by Duggal Visual Solutions.

This auction benefits Art Start (www.art-start.org), a NYC-based charity with an award-winning, nationally recognized model for using the creative arts to transform young, at-risk lives. Art Start kids live in city shelters, on the streets, are involved in court cases, or surviving with parents in crisis. Through Art Start’s daily creative arts workshops taking place inside some of the city’s loneliest places, at-risk youth collaborate with local teaching artists and educators who donate their time and guidance to nurture the youth’s creativity and talents.
