The Irish Immigration Center is a community resource center that was founded in 1998 to meet the needs of the Irish community in Philadelphia. We provide advice and support on a range of issues to the Irish community in our region.
Valuable services provided:
Support to Immigrants
- Provide information, advice and support on the U.S. immigration system, elder care, employment, healthcare and housing.
- Run two legal clinics monthly in partnership with the Brehon Law Society and Drexel Law School to provide consultations and
advice on the U.S. immigration system.
- Run passport clinics weekly to help people renew or apply for their Irish and U.K. passports and passport cards.
Promoting Citizenship
- Assist eligible Irish-Americans to secure Irish citizenships and eligible Irish green card holders to become U.S. citizens.
- Encourage people to be active and contributing citizens to the community.
Strengthening our Community
- Partner with the GAA and the City of Philadelphia to further promote Gaelic Games and Irish culture.
- Partner with other organizations to promote events and share information and resources to foster a vibrant sense of community.
- Support the older members of our community by hosting a variety of social, cultural and educational events.
- Provide a community space for other groups and organizations to meet and plan community events and programs.
