Come and bring your friends to an evening of music and fun at Bloomingdale School of Music’s key fundraising events of the year, Notes from 108th Street and the Performathon!

Monday, May 8th is our annual Notes from 108th Street Fundraiser, “Celebrating Community” hosted by WABC News Anchor, Bill Ritter. For the second year in a row, the event will take place at Broadway Presbyterian Church. This year, we will be featuring faculty, students and special guest stars in a variety of musical performances. In addition, we’re thrilled to be honoring Jon Deak, composer, former Associate Principal Bassist of the New York Philharmonic, and founder of Very Young Composers, a national award-winning program, that is international in its reach, and has partnered with BSM for the past two years.  We will also celebrate the 25th Anniversary of our signature Music Access Program, and Celebrate Community.  This year’s event is sure to be a fun and engaging evening of music and community.

Bloomingdale School of Music

Founded in 1964, Bloomingdale School of Music (BSM) provides open access to anyone seeking high quality music education. Over the 52 years, BSM has served more than 60,000 children and adults through group classes, private instruction, and performance opportunities in classical, jazz, and rock music. Located on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, each week over 600 students of all ages participate in a wide range of music-making, including early childhood classes, free community concerts, and internet-based music programs. More than 20% of the Bloomingdale student body receives financial aid scholarships annually. This means more than 10% of BSM’s annual budget goes directly towards student scholarship - an industry high. BSM alumni have gone on to careers as music teachers, performers, and life-long music lovers.
