Online Auction: Hugh Mandelert Paintings

Main Article Image

Starting September 15, 2017, the Chippewa Valley Cultural Association (CVCA) aka the Heyde Center for the Arts will be auctioning off thirteen (13) original Hugh Mandelert paintings - 12 from the private collection of Dr. David Chisholm and one that was a donation from Ruth Hoff, Kurt Miyazaki, and Zenya Hoff-Miyasaki to the Heyde Center.

These beautiful, seldom-seen works of art were done in the late 1970s and the 1980s. Many are scenes from iconic places in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. Hugh captured the idyllic and happy essence of the Chippewa Falls area with these views of common places such as the Northern Wisconsin State Fair, yard sales, Glen Loch and more.

The CVCA/Heyde Center will receive a commission from the sale of these paintings, which will be invested in strengthening our ability to provide high-quality arts and cultural programming to the Chippewa Valley as well as showcase local artists and performers.

These paintings along with a number of others will be on exhibit at the Heyde Center from September 5, 2017 until October 27, 2017. There is no charge to visit the exhibit. Exhibit hours are:

  • Monday - Thursday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Friday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and
  • one hour before a scheduled performance at the Heyde Center.

There will be a reception on Thursday, September 28 starting at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
