Voices of Hope for Aphasia – 2018 Poetry Bash
Auction Ends: Mar 24, 2018 12:00 PM EDT

Voices of Hope for Aphasia

Voices of Hope for Aphasia reconnects people living with aphasia, with their lives through innovative programs.  We are located in St. Petersburg, Florida and expanding throughout the Tampa-Bay area.

Aphasia is an acquired language disorder caused by stroke or other brain injury.   Aphasia can affect a person's speech, understanding, reading, and writing but does NOT affect a person's intelligence.   Almost 2,000,000 people in the US are living with aphasia - and although stroke is on the decline, stroke in people under the age of 50 is increasing.  Help us provide services and support to people with aphasia and their families.

Our programs rebuild self-esteem through successful experiences,  improve the communication accessibility of the community,  foster communication in groups,  provide training and tools to improve relationships with family and friends,  and educate the public about aphasia.
