About The Drama League

Our mission is to strengthen the American theater community by supporting early-career artists and fostering deeper audience engagement.  Through fellowships, residencies, workshops, masterclasses, and other initiatives, we equip aspiring artists with resources and opportunties to transform their academic training into actual professional experience.

Our focus extends beyond the artists' individual training and network, by engaging audiences as well, above and beyond the performances they experience.  Meaningful and ongoing conversations between artist and audience are essential to both the artist's own development as well as to the meaningfulness of the audeince experience.  By enhancing the professional, personal and creative development of early-career artists, we seek to improve the quality of new work for the stage and to enable audiences to have a richer, more informed connection to the works they see.
