LSO's 2019 Gala: Celebrating Dr. Mark C. Gebhardt and the Healing Art of Music

On October 19th at the Boston Hyatt Regency, Longwood Symphony Orchestra (LSO) is celebrating one of its most transformative leaders of over 35 years, Dr. Mark C. Gebhardt. As a prominent orthopedist and LSO principal clarinetist, Mark has been a vital part of the musical and medical community of Boston for over three decades, bringing his deep humanity and sense of compassion equally to the orthopedic wards and to the concert hall stage.

In addition to honoring Mark, we are raising funds for the award-winning Healing Art of Music™ program, a unique community partnership program that sets LSO apart from many other arts organizations. Through these meaningful partnerships, we have helped nonprofits raise much needed funds, community awareness, and capacity for long-term success. Since 1991, the Healing Art of Music™ program has helped more than 50 nonprofits raise over $2,500,000.
