A Magical Evening

Join Read to a Child as we celebrate the magic of reading and children's literacy and mentoring at a night of pure imagination. This year's celebration will feature signature cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, live and silent auctions, and inspiring guest speakers. All proceeds from the Gala will support Read to a Child's Lunchtime Reading Program.

This year, we are thrilled to honor Boston Regional Board Member Jeff Stone with the Above and Beyond Award for his tireless dedication and support of Read to a Child.

Our host for the evening is the acclaimed radio broadcaster, Candy O'Terry, host of the podcast, The Story Behind Her Success, who spent 25 years as Boston morning show host at 106.7.

Your support will be greatly appreciated and will help to move the literacy skills of thousands of Read to a Child at-risk students on a successful path in school, work and life!

About Read to a Child

Read to a Child is a national literacy and mentoring non-profit that inspires caring adults to read aloud regularly to underserved children to create better opportunities for the child’s future. Research shows that reading aloud to children is the single most important activity for eventual success in reading, a key factor for success in school, work, and life.  When an adult reads aloud to a child, both parties have a joyful, rewarding experience that instills a love of reading, improves literacy skills, and enhances a child’s self-confidence. Read to a Child’s Lunchtime Reading Program utilizes more than 1,900 volunteer mentors from over 125 socially-minded organizations who read one-on-one to more than 1,470 at-risk elementary school students in Greater Boston, Connecticut, Detroit, Los Angeles, and Miami.
