BLOOM AND GROW GARDEN SOCIETY INC – Butterfly Sculpture in Winter Garden
Auction Ends: Feb 15, 2020 09:00 PM EST

The Bloom and Grow Garden Society is running an auction fundraiser to raise money for a large Butterfly Sculpture in Winter Garden.

The Bloom and Grow Garden Society is auctioning a number of fun and unique items to raise money for our Monarch Project sculpture to be placed in downtown Winter Garden, Florida. We wanted this regal statue to be a gift from the club to the city in appreciation for 20 years of help and partnership in making our Spring Fever in the Garden festival so successful. The copper clad Monarch will be placed ascending from a butterfly pollinator garden in a new park located beside the splash pad on Plant Street. It will be on display for all who come to charming downtown Winter Garden to enjoy. Placement is tentatively scheduled for early 2021. Don Reynolds, noted Central Florida artist and sculptor, has been commissioned to bring this gift to life.

The Bloom and Grow Garden Society has been a force in the West Orange County area since the club's inception in 1997. The club's mission is to stimulate a knowledge and love of gardening, promote and sustain native habitat, promote and sponsor educational horticultural experiences and civic involvement.

With projects like the Path of Life, a serenity garden located at Chapin's Station, the club was awarded the National Kellogg Award for civic beautification.

Their scope of philanthropy has widened over the years. The club's sweat equity has been as great as the monetary donations with members working at West Orange Habitat for Humanity as well as Garden Therapy projects at area nursing homes and hospitals. The Bloom and Grow Garden Society provides funds to start youth gardens at area elementary schools. Annually, the group provides scholarships at the University of Florida and Valencia college for students in environmental and horticultural sciences.

The Bloom and Grow Garden Society proud to be part of the 1000 Trees for 1000 Years project. We sponsored and participated in a mass planting of trees at Tucker Ranch in Winter Garden on February 22, 2020.

The next Spring Fever in the Garden spring festival held in downtown Winter Garden will celebrate its 20th anniversary.
