Auction Cancelled by Spruce Street School Organizer

Dear Bidders & Supporters,  

We hope you are well and safe. Two weeks ago we cancelled our highly anticipated Gala Fundraiser as the call for social distancing warranted a priority to keep our families and school supporters safe from the novel coronavirus. In this time, we are all doing our part to stay home and flatten the curve. Remote learning successfully launched this week after our amazing school teachers and staff responded swiftly and worked tirelessly to quickly launch this initiative. Our kids are hard at work — and so are their parents.

The PTA’s priorities have shifted from a fundraising focus to that of self care and concern for the health and economic stability of our families, generous donors and loyal bidders who have supported us faithfully over the years. At this time we find the most appropriate course of action is to cancel both the Live and Silent Auctions. Rest assured that your health and well being is top of mind and priority. 

Although the online auction received many bids upon launch and indicated strong tickets sales, NO CREDIT CARD TRANSACTIONS have or will be processed. Donation certificates, vouchers, and items will NOT be awarded as our local restaurants and businesses face unprecedented times. We feel this is the best way to honor supporters of our school and best assist businesses to a strong return as they will need our patronage and our monetary support to rebound when we are able to offer it.

To the Gala Team volunteers and parents who solicited and processed donations and worked to plan what would've been another great event - we acknowledge your disappointment, and thank you wholeheartedly for your efforts.
