Welcome to the Hudson River Museum
On Thursday evening, August 13, the Hudson River Museum will host a Virtual Summer Splash, our first-ever online gala that celebrates the jubilant work of the renowned artist Derrick Adams, the importance of leadership, and the part we can all play in creating and upholding an inclusive and equitable society. The gala will include a live broadcast from the Museum, messages from our honorees and special guests, performances, silent and cause auction, and more. The online auction will be available from July 27-August 14th. Our auction includes beautiful art and a number of fun and unique items. Winners will be notified within 48 hours of the event. All proceeds will benefit the HRM’s mission and programs.
These are momentous and important times. Your support of the HRM is especially critical this year as we are adjusting to new realities and significant economic challenges at every angle. Through it all, we know that with you, the HRM matters more than ever and we are dedicated to serving and growing with our communities and neighbors in myriad ways—sharing thought-provoking art, providing an open forum to discuss and advance the critical social justice issues of the day, and offering inspiring and informative programs for all ages. Your support of this special event will help to fortify our future and ensure that we can continue to fulfill our mission to engage, inspire, and connect diverse communities through the power of the arts, sciences and history.
This year, we are celebrating three outstanding honorees. They each strengthen the community, bring important issues to the fore, and demonstrate that together, we can effect real change. They are:
Marx Realty and Benenson Capital Partners, Cross County Shopping Center. Cross County Shopping Center is one of the nation’s first open air shopping centers and has become an iconic Westchester destination.
Derrick Adams is a renowned multidisciplinary, New York-based artist who delves deeply and fearlessly into the nooks and crannies of Black life and culture.
The Junior Docent teen leadership program, an award-winning, after-school youth development program that serves students (Grades 9–12) from the Yonkers Public Schools. The program offers teens paid employment and for many, their first real job. The program focuses on leadership training, dedicated career mentorship and strong community building. The Junior Docent Program is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
Join us as we dive into the proverbial pool together and celebrate the joyous moments of our lives and the profound importance of community. With your support, we can emerge stronger than ever and continue to amplify individual and collective voices and directly contribute to a more fair, more just, more beautiful society. We cannot do it without you! Purchase tickets at hrm.org/gala or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your support! Happy Bidding!
