Our Mission

Since 1984 Horsepower (dba Colorado HorsePower) has provided therapeutic riding to individuals of all ages. In 2019 we expanded our program to serve people suffering from PTSD, depression, and other similar conditions. The Denver/Colorado Springs area is home to approximately 50,000 active duty military, veterans, and first responders. Many of these people served multiple tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. This translates to 8,000 to 15,000 individuals in our area who suffer from PTSD. We make our program available to qualified participants at no cost. This program brings the therapeutic power of horses and horsemanship to America?s heroes.

HorsePower, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization is located in Castle Rock Colorado. HorsePower is a Center Member with the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship, International (PATH, Intl.) and employs certified therapeutic riding instructor(s) through PATH, Intl. organization.
