Live Auction Event on Feb. 7th at Mill City Museum in Minneapolis!
As a fundraising program of the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD), this auction features an array of original contemporary artwork by accomplished alumni artists from throughout the U.S. Honoring the long and influential teaching career of one of the College’s most respected and beloved professors, Kinji Akagawa. Auction proceeds will benefit The Kinji Akagawa Fund for Interdisciplinary Studies at MCAD,a newly established endowment and scholarship program aimed at examining the intersection of art and the world around us.
This auction is one of several activities associated withParadigm Shift: MCAD Alumni and Friends Honor Kinji Akagawa, including an exhibition currently on view at the MCAD Gallery and running to February 22, 2009. For this reason, auction works will not be available for distribution until the close of the exhibition.
Also featured will be a celebratory event on Saturday, February 7, 2009 where guests will continue bidding of donated artwork. Because this event will also be the conclusion of this auction, online participants should be sure to make absentee bids and posted no later than 11a.m. EST., February 7, 2009.
