The Chronicles of Advent
Join us on Friday, April 5, 2019, for the 2019 Advent Spring Benefit! This year, we are back at Royale with auctioneer, Billy Costa.
Each year, the Advent community comes together for a night of fun in celebration of our amazing school. At the Spring Benefit, guests raise critical funds for financial aid, curriculum design, faculty professional development, and more. All members of the Advent community are encouraged to attend the Spring Benefit!
This year’s Spring Benefit theme is the Chronicles of Advent. Based on "The Chronicles of Narnia" series, we are celebrating every child and every family's Advent adventure! Just like the story, Advent encourages exploration and creativity every day. We are fortunate to have community members Lori Spencer P'23 and Courtney Bardo P'26 as this year's co-chairs.

Teacher Travel
The Advent School teachers use an emergent curriculum to engage our children’s imaginations, peak their interest, and create lifelong learners. Each year The Advent School awards two grants to support Advent faculty’s learning and engagement. Faculty are encouraged to submit proposals that describe how their studies will enhance our curriculum. In previous years, faculty members have visited Italy to study the Reggio Emilia philosophy and how to apply it further, Mexico to study the health of the monarch population and how it relates to sustainability, and to northern California to study migration patterns of animals, among other trips.
Financial Aid
The Advent School has a historic commitment, defined by our mission, to support socioeconomic diversity. The School awards financial assistance, in the form of grants, to provide all children the opportunity to attend Advent. Approximately 25 percent of families receive some form of financial assistance.
Gifts to Advent’s Financial Aid Fund are critical to the success of our mission. Contributions to the fund are restricted and may only be used to provide financial assistance to Advent families.
