Ohio native Wendy Williams joined the Minnesota Orchestra in 1992, after having played second flute with the Houston Symphony Orchestra and Houston Grand Opera, as well as principal flute with the Houston Ballet. In March 2010 she performed Mozart’s Concerto for Flute and Harp with Principal Harp Kathy Kienzle.
Williams earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She has been featured in performances of Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 and numerous chamber works during the Minnesota Orchestra’s Sommerfest series. In 2009 and 2010 she performed in the Grand Teton Music Festival Orchestra. She is in demand as a flute instructor and as a coach on audition and performance preparation.
