Item Description

Intense and charismatic, Ernest Hemingway reveled in both the simplicities of life and its extremes. A talent for writing and insatiable thirst for adventure drew this twentieth century war correspondent, novelist and avid sportsman to some of the world's most beautiful, exotic action-filled settings. In Paris, Milan, Pamplona, Kenya, Key West and Havana he captured the events of his time in a straightforward writing style that belied the complexities underlying his life and work. Inspired by its namesake, The Ernest Hemingway ® Collection from Thomasville ® marries romantic notions, simple forms and exotic details in an expansive home furnishings collection that honors the many facets of the Nobel Prize-winning author's legendary life. Bold.
The Borana Lodge Table offered here is inspired from The Borana Lodge, a lodge located on 35,000 acres of hilly farmland in Kenya in an idyllic setting, 17 miles north of the equator and 6,000 feet above sea level. It is in such settings that Ernest Hemingway became inspired to write about Africa. The clear view of the occasional snow and permanent small glaciers on Mount Kenya is a contrast to the panorama of mountains and desert to the North.
