Item Description
This detailed lidded stein of a soldier is from the Girmscheid collection. The stein is hand-painted and etched. The salt glaze results from salt being added to the open fire of the kilns. The complex firing technique makes the color variations of each piece unique. Inside the stein you will find a paper explaining the maker and firing process.
The detail is elaborate and depicts a uniformed soldier in a braided deep blue colored jacket wiith accents of red and gray. The wounded soldier is holding his sword while standing at attention.
On the bottom of the stein is Student Prince Chapter, Boston, MA 32nd SCI Coventia 1998.
The stein is 11 3/4" tall. The width, including the handle is 5 1/2", the body of the soldier is 3 1/2". The base is 5 1/4".
