2014 EL DORADO ZINFANDEL

Spanish for “the gold,” El Dorado Vineyard sits not far from where the precious metal was first discovered in California. As the state’s early pioneers coveted gold, Koerner Rombauer so prized the Zinfandel from this site, he could not resist when the chance to buy the vineyard arose in 2010. This marks the third vintage of El Dorado Zinfandel under the Rombauer family’s ownership.

TASTING NOTES
This wine is ruby red with a bright hue with aromas of red berries and blackberries mixed with brown sugar, tobacco and a hint of rose. On the palate, it’s expansive and dense with flavors of plums, boysenberry, blackberry jam, vanilla and dried florals. The finish builds and lingers on and on.

2013 NAPA VALLEY ZINFANDEL

Introduced to California during the Gold Rush, Zinfandel is considered by many to be America’s heritage grape. This wine represents a selection of the finest Zinfandel lots from our Napa Valley vineyards.

TASTING NOTES
This wine is deep purple-black, with a magenta hue, and aromas of deep, dark fruits, blackberry, boysenberry and sweet vanilla. On the palate, the wine is rich and lush, with flavors of bright cherry and freshly baked pie, with just a hint of rose. Concentrated vanilla and cherry build on the finish.

2014 PROPRIETOR SELECTION ZINFANDEL

This limited-production Zinfandel is produced only in exceptional vintages and represents the year’s finest barrels. 2014 marks the first vintage made since 2011. This wine is grown in two premier vineyards in the Sierra Foothills, where the soils, complex topography and high elevation are ideal for Zinfandel.

TASTING NOTES
Dark purple with magenta highlights and a bright ruby rim, this Zinfandel is intensely aromatic with scents of red cherries, plums, ripe strawberries, vanilla and violets. Flavors of black and red cherries, blackberry jam and red currant create a voluptuous core, complemented by lively acidity and soft tannins. Nuances of fig, vanilla and baking spice invite another taste.
