Robin Washington is offering an exclusive master class concerning all things radio and broadcast. With his extensive knowledge and experience in the field, he will walk a limited number of attendees through radio and podcast production, pitching a story and, most importantly, how to make it profitable. Also, as the former top editor of a daily newspaper, he'll give tips on repurposing your story for print or the web.
If you are perusing through the Boston Globe, Boston Business Journal, are tuned into WGBH or Wisconsin Public Radio, or are attending a California film screening, you likely have come across the words and works of Robin Washington.
With a career spanning decades in Boston, including as a Boston Herald columnist and managing editor of the Bay State Banner, Washington also made his mark in the Midwest as editor-in-chief of the Duluth News Tribune, as well as nationally for NPR, BET News. For much of 2018, he was interim commentary editor for The Marshall Project.
The winner of many prestigious journalism awards, Washington has appeared on MSNBC, Fox News, ABC News, CNN, National Public Radio and the BBC. From 2004-2014, he was editorial page editor, news director, and then editor of Minnesota’s Duluth News Tribune. Previously, he was a columnist for the Boston Herald, for which he covered the Catholic Church sexual abuse scandal.
In radio, Washington is also host of "Hear Me Out," a weekly public affairs program on Wisconsin Public Radio examining everything from the Rainbow Family Gathering and participants' run-ins with authorities in northern Wisconsin's national forest to an international gathering of accordionists in Superior.
