Item Description
16" x 20" Limited Edition Giclée Fine-Art Print (unframed). Hand signed & numbered with Certificate of Authenticity included. Professionally printed in Victoria, BC on FSC and SFI certified papers. Killer Whales, Orcas, or Kakawin (in Nuu-chah-nulth) have been making headlines in Britist Columbia. The Southern Resident Killer Whales that live in the waters off BC’s Gulf Islands and Northern Washington state are threatened. Threats include toxins in the ocean, noise pollution and reduced Chinook salmon stocks (their preferred diet). With their populations dwindling, conservation efforts are being made to educate the public on how to help protect these beautiful creatures.
About the Artist: Influenced by her life on the coast, Claire Watson captures the essence of what it means to live out west through her stylized drawings and paintings. She works as a freelance illustrator and designer aboard her wooden sailboat in Tofino BC, spending as much time outdoors to appreciate her surroundings as much as she can.
