Item Description

Take your taste buds on a tour around the world with this lot of six bottles, one each from Argentina, France, Italy, New Zealand, Portugal and the USA.

The highlights of this tour around the world are two of the world’s best wines from the 2014 vintage:

A bottle of what many consider New Zealand’s finest red wine, produced by its oldest winery: the 2014 Te Mata Coleraine. This cabernet-based wine has been consistently rated as one of the best in the world over its 37+ vintages. James Suckling writes: “Distinctive leafy aromas abound, as do gravely nuances and tinges of violets, blueberries, blue cherries and cassis. A class act. The palate has layers of fine, dense and ripe tannins saturated in dark-cherry, cassis and blueberry flavors. The acidity is pitch-perfect, too. This is a stylish modern cabernet that could compete with the best from any continent.”
Also includes a bottle of the wine from Booker that was named #10 on Wine Spectator’s top 100 list for 2017, the 2014 Booker Oublié. A blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre and Counoise, Oublié is Eric Jensen’s ode to Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Wine Spectator writes: “Expressive and impressively structured, with savory blackberry aromas and accents of rosemary, thyme and crushed stone, opening to complex, densely layered flavors of currant, pepper and espresso. Grenache, Mourvèdre and Counoise. Best from 2018 through 2028.”
