Item Description
On a 75-acre ranch in the Knights Valley area of Sonoma county, the Piters family planted Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon in 1990.
With the 2009 vintage, Petrified Forest Vineyards began making wines from the premium grapes it had been selling to top Napa and Sonoma wineries for years.
The winning bidder will receive a full case of 2014 Knights Valley Merlot. With the scent of ripe berries, interlaced with hints of earth, mineral, cocoa, and toasted oak are comparable to top Merlot-based offerings from the Left Bank in Bordeaux, the deep, dense and stately flavors interwoven with wild mountain herbs and minerals are reminders that this wine is made with world-class grapes grown on a special high-elevation site.
Awarded 95 points by “Sommelier to the Stars” Christopher Sawyer, SawyerSomm.com
Item Special Note
Wine will be shipped by the winery to the winning bidder.
