HOPE FOR TOMORROW 23 inches x 85 inches - Recycled Surfboard Art

carolyn@carolynjohnsongallery.com or 408.210.6326. Laguna Niguel, CA 92677.

Who doesn't love the ocean? Its vastness humbles us. Its beauty helps us find peace. Its strength helps us find our own.

Local artist Carolyn Johnson's Recycled/Upcycled Surfboard Art takes boards destined to landfill and transforms them to unique and original wall art. Carolyn incorporates her techniques with acrylics, ink blends, resin, and metallics – the results dance in the light and show depths of multiple layers - they are magical.

Carolyn has been an artist her entire life. In 2013 she became a professional artist participating in art shows where she won many awards and titles.  Carolyn got started painting on surfboards in 2018 when she was asked to contribute to ARTREACH - which auctioned the surfboards to support kids art programs. It is there that she got hooked on the ecological component of saving surfboards from landfills, one board at a time. To date she has created hundreds of original surfboard art pieces. Carolyn also paints other Coastal Contemporary art subjects on wood panel or as she calls it 4 cornered art. Her art can be seen on her website at www.CarolynJohnsonGallery.com. All inquiries are welcome.
