The Marblehead Museum was originally founded as the Marblehead Historical Society in 1898. Over time, the organization has developed to become the Marblehead Museum, whose mission it is to preserve, protect and promote the unique history of Marblehead. The Museum's properties include the exhibits & J.O.J. Frost Galleries at 170 Washington Street, the Jeremiah Lee Mansion and the Civil War G.A.R. Museum at the Old Town House. It is a non profit organization funded entirely by memberships, donations and fundraising. The Museum is committed to serving members and visitors of all ages and membership is open to all.
