IWDC was established in 1995 to strengthen women's global leadership through training, education, networking and research with a focus on increasing the participation of women in politics, policy and decision-making within their own governments using mobile technoloy. IWDC works in partnership with established NGOs around the world to implement all programs, projects and activities. IWDC holds Special Consultative Status at The United Nations and participates with an official delegation to all UN meetings, conferences and Special Sessions.
