Background/school description: Founded in 1991, The Young School is a community-based Montessori program mentoring children ages 6 through 12 years old (first-sixth grades) in their creative academic pursuits. The School's small tutorial environment provides children and their families a framework for intellectual and social development. With a 12-1 student-teacher ratio, The School is known for its rigorous academics complemented by frequent field trips, enrichment in foreign language classes and music programs as well as community outreach.
